Sensory Hearing Loss | Sensorineural Hearing Loss

Sensory hearing loss can be occur due to inner ear disorders and expressly the cochlea. Sensory hearing loss could be congenital. Congenital means that sensory hearing loss is present at birth. The two main causes of sensory hearing loss are abnormal cochlea development and inherited conditions. Sensory hearing loss can also be caused by an acquired condition such as meningitis which is an infection of the fluid around the brain and frequently extends into your inner ear.

Meniere's disease is the ordinary form of sensory hearing loss. Due to a lot of inherited disorders hearing loss is occurred at birth or later on in life because of secondary disintegration of your inner ear structures. Normally these conditions take place due to recessive conditions which can frequently omit generations in a family. There are many forms of sensory hearing loss but Waardenburg's syndrome is one of the most frequent forms of sensory hearing loss. When people suffer from sensory hearing loss then the color of their eyes usually changed into a different color because they may already suffer from different syndromes such as Usher's syndrome (retinitis pigmentosa) and Alport's syndrome (deafness and kidney disease).

The way from where sensory hearing loss occurs is that when the cochlea is not working correctly because the tiny hair cells of cochlea are destroyed or damaged. When you suffer from hearing loss then you may be able to hear such sounds which are muffled. This may also possible that you hear only limited sounds or no sound at all during the period of hearing loss. Always remember that sensory hearing loss is an enduring condition. You should always try to wear hearings aids when you suffer from sensory hearing loss.
