Hearing loss can affect anyone even a new born infant or someone rejoicing their 100th birthday or anyone in between. According to some calculation out of every 1,000 about 3 new born babies are born with some type of hearing injuries. Hearing injuries are becoming most common birth defects in the whole world nowadays.
The meaning of hearing loss is that the something inside the ear is not working properly. Hearing loss can be occurred by serious infections of the middle ear which is meningitis. Hearing also occurred from maternal diabetes, lack of oxygen and head injuries. The causes which are responsible for hearing loss later in life are listening to very loud music especially through headphones, exposure to loud or monotonous sounds such as machinery, airplanes, gunshots, etc.
Conductive, sensory, mixed (conductive and sensory combined) and neural are a few dissimilar types of hearing loss. Each and every type of hearing loss also has resultant categories such as otitis media and ostosclerosis.
